		<description>Hi Mike, I think a primary reason that mine came loose is because the threads in the insert were not very deep, so it was easy to shear off the fibers between. Most screw threads have a bit more tooth to them.

The o-ring is a neat idea, thanks!</description>

		<description>You might roll a rubber o-ring over the endcap onto the handle at each end.  Takes a bit of the shock (and noise) away when the handle slams into the vise body.  My leg vise handle is similar to your original setup (screw into endgrain) and hasn&#039;t pulled free yet.
